I would like to know more about Colorado. I have never been there but have heard good things about it. I adored the photographs that are posted and would love to come visit. My folks and I love being outside but can't take the cold so information on'how cold it feels' would be very helpful. My kids have not played in snow and would love to so I hope that the humidity keeps the weather acceptable. It'll help us incredibly in planning our trip.
We did this is 2 stages, my spouse moved first and stayed with a friend that we had renowned for a while while she went to interviews, got everything ready for us and began her new job. Then about two months later I finished packing everything up, reserved our moving truck ( and replenished my AAA membership which saved us a pretty penny on the rental, hostels and food on the way ), and resigned from the board of my video production company. The cross country trip was immense fun and kind of a mini holiday for us. We made the trip in about 3 days and everything made it here safely.
And, quite frankly, those of us old line Coloradans who dislike that'vibe' as much as these posters in this thread appear to say they do aren't inclined to publish a list on an internet forum of the few uncrowded decent places left. The places to avoid--if you've learnt about it in a countrywide mag, or seen an advert on the television about it, or your NY City work mate tells you about it--well, forget about it, it's been'discovered.' That takes about every'resort' city off of the list. If it is's on an Interstate, you can pretty much forget that, too. Within 150 miles of the Front Range--nope, it's not uncrowded. Ski area? Forget them, too. No worse holiday maker magnet than those. What's left? Not much. But there are still some neat places out there.
